Southern Swing State Poll

The big picture: Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are in a dead heat in these three critical  states.

Key Takeaways:

  • 64% of respondents are choosing Kamala Harris or Donald Trump because they believe that the other opponent would “be a garbage President.”

  • 68% either feel that their voices aren’t being heard in Congress or are unsure if Washington is listening to them.

  • 47% would consider voting for a nonpartisan Congressional candidate that’s a normal person and not a career politician.

  • A politician that works with both sides of the aisle has a net favorability rating of 73%.

In other news: The Independent Center is the go-to source for polling on political independents. As such, key news outlets are citing our data as we head towards election day.

The bottom line: To win in these key states, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are going to have to connect with independent voters. With the margins as tight as they are, simply appealing to their respective bases won’t get them over the finish line on the path to 270 electoral votes.

Florida Voters Divided on Senate Race, Desire Bipartisanship in Washington

For candidates and campaigns, the message from Florida voters is clear: they are looking for leaders who can rise above the partisan fray, work together to solve problems, and restore faith in the political system. Those who can speak to these sentiments and demonstrate a record of bipartisan accomplishment may have the inside track in the Sunshine State.

In Divided North Carolina, Voters Seek Unity and Compromise

For candidates and campaigns looking to win the hearts and minds of North Carolina voters, the path is clear but not easy. They must navigate a polarized and rapidly changing electorate, appeal to the state's moderate traditions while energizing their base, and present a vision for breaking through the gridlock and dysfunction in Washington.

Georgia Voters Split on Presidential Race, Seek Bipartisan Leadership

As the 2024 campaign enters its final stretch, Georgia is once again shaping up to be a key battleground in the fight for the White House and control of Congress. With a dead-even presidential race, a strong desire for bipartisanship, and an openness to Independent voices, the state is poised to play a pivotal role in deciding the nation's future.
